“Harry Ewington –  A WW1 survivor’s account”  by Christine Rhodes

Christine’s talk looks at the life of her grandfather Harry Ewington, an ordinary soldier who fought in the Great War.  It follows Harry from his life before the war, through signing-up to fight, training and being sent to the trenches.  We will see what life was like for soldiers living in the trenches, how they kept in touch with their loved ones at home, the battles they took part in and how the wounded received treatment.
