Weather to be or not to be

Numerical weather prediction was developed in the 1920s, but only became practical when powerful computers emerged in the 1960s.  Subsequent advances in computer power and improved observations have steadily improved weather forecast and provided the basis for predictions about climate change.

Speaker:  Bob Riddaway – ex-General Secretary of the Royal Meteorological Society and President of the European Meteorological Society.
